| I don’t understand why hate couldn’t ever be forgotten; why can’t everyone just sit back and be themselves without worrying about what everyone else is doing or saying. Why can’t they stop accusing each other of things and just chill? Everything is made so difficult by the society around us; everyone gives us these high-set rules we’re expected to live up to. And it’s always so difficult for the people who won’t accept those rules- won’t go by them- because everyone else gives them so much shit for it. No one is real except for the people who are criticized. And the only reason people criticize them so much is because they’re just envious of their strength to resist what everyone else is laying down. Life wasn’t supposed to be about following the lines and doing things the way other people want you to do them. It’s supposed to be about finding yourself and learning things yourself rather than impressing others. Why, then, should it matter what she’s wearing, who he’s dating and what party I went to this weekend? What should matter is the fact that I learned so much more about myself when I went to that party or all the awesome new people I met. Maybe we should all try to- I don’t know- take joy in other people’s experiences and try to learn from them instead of constantly criticizing them in a relentless attempt to drag them down. Maybe we should try to respect people even if we don’t know them- even if it doesn’t seem they deserve it- because, in reality, we know nothing about their secret lives; about the challenges they face, all the disgusting situations they could have pulled through. Alone. And, maybe, if she wants attention- we should give it to her, just to see what she has to say. Maybe it’s something interesting, and even if it isn’t we can still learn from it. Or perhaps we could get to the bottom of it; discover the reality behind the reason she seeks so much attention and maybe we’ll discover that she’s suffering from a most terrible heartbreak…or a crisis at home. No one ever has the dignity to look beyond what they see on the outside, the intelligence to search beyond what they’ve only simply glanced at- and it’s stupid. It’s so stupid; yet no one realizes the stupidity of what they’re doing because it’s all they ever do. And it’s horrifying because only by looking at this do I realize how disgusting and cruel the human mind has become. |
